Hey there!
We’re excited to be taking your portraits soon! To make sure you look and feel your best on camera, here are a few friendly tips to help you prepare. These are not strict rules—just helpful ideas so everything runs smoothly and the results look amazing.
Keep it simple and clean. Solid colors work best. Avoid busy patterns or logos unless it’s your company’s logo.
Choose colors that suit your skin tone. Blues, greys, and soft earth tones look great on camera.
Dress like you would for an important client meeting. Business casual is perfect.
Avoid pure white or neon colors – they can reflect light in an unflattering way.
Layers look great. A blazer or a nice cardigan adds texture and professionalism.
Iron your clothes the day before to avoid wrinkles.
For everyone: A bit of powder (even translucent) helps reduce shine.
If you wear makeup: Go for a natural, polished look. Matte textures photograph better than glossy ones.
Avoid glitter or strong shimmer.
Hair: Make sure it’s clean and styled how you like it. Bring a brush or comb just in case.
Sleep well the night before – it really shows in your eyes!
Hydrate the day before and the morning of the shoot.
Bring your smile – no need to overdo it, just be yourself.
Glasses wearers: Clean your lenses beforehand.
If you’re unsure what to wear, bring 2 options. We can help you choose!
Don’t worry if you’re not used to being in front of a camera – most people aren’t! My job is to guide you and make the whole process relaxed and enjoyable. Here’s what you can expect during your photo session:
We’ll take a few minutes to chat before we start, so you can get comfortable.
I’ll guide you through posing – nothing stiff or awkward. Just subtle direction to help you look your best.
We’ll try a few angles to see what works best for your features and vibe.
You’ll have time to check your appearance between shots if needed – feel free to fix your hair, clothes, or take a breath.
We’ll shoot a few photos and review them together, so you can see how they’re turning out.
Retouching is included, so don’t stress about little things like a blemish or stray hair – I’ve got it covered.
Most of all – you don’t need to know what to do. That’s my job. You just bring yourself, and we’ll take care of the rest!
We’re here to make you look great and feel comfortable. If you have any questions, feel free to ask ahead of time or during the session. Can’t wait to meet you and create some awesome portraits together!
